Improvements to Canada Life Legacy Plan coverages

The Government of Ontario has announced an increase in coverage (PDF) for services of a psychologist and other paramedical practitioners for the Ontario Public Service (OPS) Post-Retirement Benefits (PRB) Legacy plan, effective January 1, 2022.

The per half-hour cap for services provided by a psychologist of practitioner registered with a Master of Social Work (MSW) designation will increase from $40 to $80, and the annual maximum will increase from $1400 to $1600. Any eligible claims incurred since January 1, 2022 that have already been submitted to Canada Life will be automatically re-assessed based on the new service caps, without any further submission by the plan member.
