Ontario Pension Board (OPB) named founding signatory to the Canadian Investor Statement on Climate Change

This morning, the Responsible Investing Association (RIA) of Canada announced that OPB was among the founding signatories to the Canadian Investor Statement on Climate Change(opens in a new tab).

Alongside institutional investors from coast-to-coast, including our investment manager, the Investment Management Corporation of Ontario (IMCO), this pledge recognizes that climate change presents a major threat to long-term growth and prosperity, and that there is an urgent need to accelerate the transition towards a net-zero economy. The full statement, available here, identifies the actions that Canadian institutional investors, such as OPB and IMCO, are committed to taking to support a just transition that is informed by Indigenous perspectives and supports Indigenous economic opportunities.
