Mark J. Fuller PRESIDENT & CEO
Mark J. Fuller is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Ontario Pension Board (OPB). Prior to joining OPB in 1999, Mark was a partner at a national business law firm where his practice included acting on acquisitions and divestitures and advising boards of directors and senior managers on a wide variety of corporate and commercial matters. He served as OPB’s primary external counsel between 1993 and 1999. Mark is a member of the Board of Directors as well as the Human Resources (Chair), Risk and Capital, and Conduct Review Committees of The Empire Life Insurance Company. He is also a Director of Labrador Iron Ore Royalty Corporation and serves as Chair of the Investment Advisory Committee to The Public Guardian and Trustee of Ontario. Mark received his LLB from Western University in 1983 and was called to the Ontario bar in 1985.
Peter Shena EVP & Chief Pension Officer
Peter Shena is the Executive Vice-President and Chief Pension Officer of Ontario Pension Board (OPB). A strong advocate for retirement income security for Canadians, Peter sits on the board for the Association of Canadian Pension Management (ACPM) and the Financial Planning Standards Council (FPSC), is a regular speaker at stakeholder and industry conferences and actively works with pension regulators and policy makers to ensure the message of equitable retirement income for all Canadians remains on their agendas. Most recently, Peter has been working to redefine the responsibilities plan administrators have and how they deliver service to their members – leading to the launch of Advisory Services for PSPP members.
Chris Kautzky Chief Investment Officer
Chris Kautzky, CFA is the Chief Investment Officer of Ontario Pension Board. Prior to joining OPB in 2019, Chris served as Managing Director of Aon Hewitt Investment Management Inc., Aon’s outsourced CIO business in Canada. At Aon, he provided strategic asset allocation and investment management services for defined benefit pension plan clients, and led a high-performing team across multiple functions, from portfolio management to compliance. Earlier in his career, Chris held the position of Senior Manager of Product Development at HSBC Global Asset Management, and also held various roles at HSBC Bank Canada. He has served on numerous committees, including those related to global investment and global pension risk, and been a speaker at several industry conferences. A Chartered Financial Analyst, Chris also holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Western University.
Valerie J. Adamo CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER
Valerie J. Adamo is the Chief Technology Officer of Ontario Pension Board (OPB). Prior to joining OPB in 2014, she served as the Chief Technology Officer at Health Shared Services in British Columbia, where she oversaw the technology infrastructure for healthcare in the province of BC, supporting six Health Authorities with more than 125,000 clients. Valerie also served as the Vice-President and Chief Information Officer at the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board. In addition to her IT role, she was the executive sponsor for a major IT-enabled business transformation program, which successfully digitized the front end of the claims process. Her teams are the recipients of numerous awards, including recognition by the Smithsonian Institute, CIPA’s and GTAC & Gartner awards for innovative use of technology. In her personal time, Valerie is an active life, career and executive coach, a member of her local school board’s Special Educational Advisory Committee, and also represents VOICE – an organization dedicated to supporting children who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Mila Babic VICE-PRESIDENT OF CLIENT SERVICES
Mila Babic is the Vice-President of Client Services at Ontario Pension Board (OPB). In this role, she leads the team responsible for delivering exceptional client service to our members, pensioners and employers. Mila led the business launch of advisory services through OPB’s Advise & Protect vision, which provides clients with professional financial advice and decision-making support at critical milestones in their lives. With 25 years of pension industry experience, she has held a variety of leadership roles, including those in stakeholder relations, project management, strategic planning and analytics development. She has a keen interest in leadership development, client experience and operational excellence. Mila completed the Operations Leadership Program at the Queen’s University School of Business, and she holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from York University as well as a Master of Business Administration from Western University’s Ivey Business School.
Armand de Kemp VICE-PRESIDENT OF FINANCE
Armand de Kemp is the Vice-President of Finance at Ontario Pension Board (OPB). In his more than 15 years in financial leadership roles at OPB, he has continued to evolve services and capacity across all financial functions, including the budgeting and business planning processes, as well as internal audit, financial reporting and the pensioner payroll. Armand is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA) and also a Certified Financial Planner (CFP). Prior to joining OPB, he held a variety of primary financial executive positions with technology startups and small enterprises. Armand served as Vice-President/Senior Manager with Deloitte and was a Chartered Restructuring and Insolvency Professional (CIRP) and Trustee in Bankruptcy. His early career was with Deloitte (Touche Ross) in their audit practice in Ottawa. Armand holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Carleton University.
Jasmine Kanga VICE-PRESIDENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES & CORPORATE SERVICES
Jasmine Kanga is the Vice-President of Human Resources & Corporate Services at Ontario Pension Board (OPB). She joined OPB in 2015 as the Director, Human Resources, after more than 15 years in HR and program delivery leadership roles with the Ontario Public Service. She has extensive experience in organizational transformation, labour relations and learning and development, with a strong focus on leadership enhancement, talent management and building high-performing teams. In her current role, Jasmine leads the HR team in the delivery of the full range of HR functions, including the development and implementation of all strategic talent management initiatives and programs. She is also responsible for overseeing a broad range of corporate services, including compliance, internal communications, records, facilities management, and executive administrative support. Jasmine holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Human Resources from Ryerson University and a Bachelor of Arts from Western University.
