Notice to members – Government department phone scam

As you may have heard through the news, a new telephone scam is circulating around Canada that makes it appear that a government department or a police force, is calling, and requests your SIN number or payment.

We would like take this opportunity to reassure you that if an OPB staff member calls you, we will never ask you to provide your SIN number or payment over the phone.

As a reminder, please note that we do use a third-party survey provider, IPSOS, to conduct our monthly client feedback surveys. However, our survey responses are anonymous and IPSOS will never ask you to provide any personal information.
