Update: March 19, 2020

We want to reassure retired members that your upcoming pension pay dates will proceed as scheduled. For example, your March pension payment will take place on March 20; your April pension payment will take place on April 22 for PSPP members, and April 1 for former TVO retirees as planned.

Update: March 17, 2020

Further to our update on Friday, March 13, OPB continues to operate on a modified basis to align with the recommendations of Health Canada, with the Client Care Centre providing service to our clients only by phone and email. In-person and scheduled office appointments remain unavailable until further notice.

We will be reviewing all service requests and focusing on high priority transactions, such as retirement and pensioner services. We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding.

The health and safety of our employees and clients is our first priority. Our role is to provide retirement security for more than 90,000 current and retired members, to whom we deliver the pension promise each day.

We are closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation and following the advice of Health Canada and other applicable public health authorities. OPB has strong business continuity plans in place to ensure ongoing delivery of service to our clients, including pension payroll, even in a situation such as the current COVID-19 pandemic. This continuity extends to our investment portfolio managed by IMCO, which is diversified for long-term sustainability.

With increased attention in the media, it’s important to remember that Health Canada remains the best source of information regarding updates to COVID-19 preventative measures, such as frequent handwashing and ensuring you remain home if you feel unwell.

Notice regarding In-Office Appointments

In support of these measures, starting Monday, March 16 we will no longer be offering in-office appointments, and those already scheduled will be cancelled. A member of our Client Care Centre team would be happy to assist you by email at clientservice@opb.ca, or over the phone at 416-364-5035 or 1-800-668-6203 Toll Free (Canada & U.S.A.). Client Care Associates are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm EST.

We will continue to provide timely updates on this page as information becomes available and should any further precautions be put in place.

Sincerely,
Mark Fuller
President & CEO, Ontario Pension Board (OPB)
